What is Energy Psychology?

Energy Psychology (EP) is a family of mind-body approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. It is used to treat psychological and emotional problems, facilitate health and well-being, and improve human performance. EP works by helping to release stuck energy in the mind-body system that usually is the result of unresolved past issues. It uses gentle, yet precise methods that alter brain chemistry and the body’s energy infrastructure to shift beliefs, behaviors and emotional responses quickly. The approach blends traditional Western science and psychology (Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy) with ancient knowledge of the energy basis for acupuncture and acupressure.  Most EP methods use some form of stimulating energy points on the skin by tapping, holding, or massaging, paired with specific mental activities that shift the brain’s electrochemistry and release emotions stored in the body. Physical interventions in EP, such as body tapping, work with the person in therapy becoming mentally engaged in their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that are targets for change. This mental engagement may occur through imagination or through actual participation in a feared situation.

EP has been applied successfully to the assessment and treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, pain, stress, psychophysiological issues, and self-sabotaging behaviors by a broad range of healthcare providers to regulate, affect, and promote emotional and physical health.

Some facts about stress and how Energy Psychology can help

Stress is a natural physical and mental reaction to life experiences. Anything from everyday responsibilities like work and family to serious life challenges can trigger stress. It can ruin your mood, damage relationships, and lead to both physical and mental health problems. The issue with stress is when it becomes chronic.

Unfortunately, the body can also overreact to stressors that are not life-threatening, such as traffic jams, work pressure, and family difficulties. The brain cannot differentiate between an actual danger or the thought of an actual danger.

A stressful situation triggers a cascade of stress hormones, like adrenaline and cortisol, that produce many physiological changes and activate the survival mechanism through the fight-flight-or-freeze response. 

Coping with stress is about trying to solve the problems that are within your control and learning to accept the things you cannot change. And this is where the work I do can help you. One EP method I use is EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique). It is a very healing technique that has been shown to reduce cortisol levels by as much as 24% within just one hour (Church, Yount & Brooks, 2012). EFT Tapping puts you in tune with your emotions and improves your mind-body connection in a positive and healing way, thereby activating the relaxation response. Psychological distress symptoms also decrease. Because it accesses your emotions and body simultaneously, EFT Tapping provides powerful stress relief, lowering cortisol levels faster than most traditional and alternative stress relief methods. Where are the sessions held?

Sessions are held on zoom over the internet with a link I send you when you book your session. You just need a good internet, connection, a camera, and a microphone.

How do I charge for the sessions?

Depending on where you are in the world, you can pay with credit card, over Paypal or Twint.

Do I work just with women?

No, I work with men too. It's just that, in my experience, women are the ones who seek this kind of help the most. But if you are a man looking for tools to improve your relationships and feel better, contact me and I will be happy to work with you. If you are a mom and want to support your kids in some special way, I also work with kids and adolescents.

How many sessions do you need?


It really depends on the person and on the problem you want to resolve. Some issues are more deep-rooted than others, and some may have many aspects that need to be addressed. Generally speaking, I advise at least three sessions for one concern, but occasionally you can resolve things in only one session. 
I offer discounted packages which can be used over the course of a 2-month period.
